Vital Memory dietary supplement was formulated with the aging brain in mind.  If you have a loss of cognition and general memory including short-term memory, Vital Memory may be the supplement for you.  This supplement contains Phosphatidylserine, Acetyl-L-Carnitine,  Vitamins B12, E and C, Alpha Lipoic acid, folic acid and Calcium.

Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid found in high concentrations in the brain and an integral part of the cell membrane of neurons.  Scientific studies have demonstrated that this phospholipid decreases in the brain as we age.  This causes neuronal membranes to lose fluidity and proper electrical conductance which causes a loss of memory function.  Clinical studies indicate that supplementing with phosphatidylserine boosts concentration and memory that is associated with aging.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a derivative of L-Carnitine, which is a modified amino acid, aids in the transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria for ATP production.  In other words, it is involved with energy production that runs all of our cells.  Acetyl-L-Carnitine is used in supplements rather than L-Carnitine because Acetyl-L-Carnitine is able to pass through cell membranes better.  This boost in energy production is particularly important for heart muscle, skeletal muscle and brain function as these tissues use an inordinate amount of energy even under normal conditions.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Vitamins E and C, and Folic acid are powerful antioxidants that remove free radicals that are generated during normal metabolism.  Alpha-Lipoic acid is known as the antioxidant’s antioxidant.  Glutathione is actually the antioxidant protector of the mitochondria.  However, Alpha-Lipoic acid regenerates Glutathione thus restoring normal antioxidant function.

Vitamin B12 is an important nutrient that is involved in DNA synthesis, fatty acid synthesis, energy production and red blood cell formation.

Calcium is added to this supplement to enhance the release of neurotransmitter into the synaptic cleft.

User Opinions

One consumer highly recommend this product as it worked very well when for early stages of dementia of his father. There was a big difference in his memory when he did not take it. Interestingly, another consumer mentioned he kept forgetting to take this product. But once remembered, it actually helped to disperse the brain fog. This one has more phosphatidyl serine in it than most such blends. Major complaint is that it is a bit pricey especially when you take 2 to 3 tablets a day.

Take 1 to 3 tablets a day.  Best if taken with meal.  To get the best results from Vital Memory for memory deficits due to aging, take 3 tablets per day.
